Accessibility statement
This statement applies to the Find Private Care website at findprivatecare.co.uk. We want everyone to be able to find and compare care, whatever their needs or device.
Our commitment
We are committed to making this website accessible, in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Accessibility is a design principle here, not an afterthought — our north star is a nervous 80-year-old on a small phone as much as a 20-year-old in a hurry.
AbilityNet has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability, at mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk.
How accessible this website is
We believe most of the site is accessible. Features we build in include:
- A built-in text-size control. The "A+" button in the header increases text size in steps, and your choice is remembered on your next visit.
- Light, dark and automatic colour themes. The theme button in the header switches between automatic (following your device setting), light and dark, and your choice is remembered on your next visit. If your device requests increased contrast, the site strengthens borders, text and focus outlines to match.
- Large tap targets. Primary buttons and form fields are 50–54px tall and other interactive controls are at least 44px, comfortably exceeding the WCAG 2.2 AA minimum target size (2.5.8).
- Clear, visible focus. Every interactive element shows a high-contrast focus outline when you move through the page with a keyboard.
- Reduced-motion support. If your device is set to reduce motion, animations and transitions are switched off automatically.
- A "skip to content" link. The first thing a keyboard or screen-reader user reaches lets them jump straight past the header to the main content.
- Semantic structure and landmarks. Pages use proper headings and header, navigation, main and footer landmarks so assistive technology can navigate them.
- High-contrast, readable colours. Text and interface colours are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast, and the layout reflows to a single column on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
Known limitations
We know some parts of the site are not yet fully accessible, and we are working to fix them:
- Some interactive components still use inline styling. A few components that are built in the browser by JavaScript (for example the results cards) still carry inline style attributes. We have migrated the main static pages into shared classes and are working through the rest; this does not stop the content being read, but it is part of our tidy-up.
- External sites are out of our control. When you follow a link to a provider's own website, an insurer finder, a booking system or another third party, that site's accessibility is the responsibility of its owner, not ours.
If you find a problem that is not listed here, please tell us — see below.

Technical information about this website's accessibility
We are committed to making this website accessible in accordance with WCAG 2.2 level AA. The site is partially compliant, because of the known limitations listed above, which we are actively addressing.
How we prepared this statement
This statement was prepared on 6 July 2026. It is based on our own review of the site against WCAG 2.2 AA, including keyboard, focus, contrast, motion and structure checks. A full independent audit and automated testing in our build pipeline are planned, and their findings will update the known-limitations section above.
